In Vermillion County, an injured bald eagle is receiving care after being rescued by an Indiana State Police trooper. The animal was found Tuesday along State Road 63, which is west of Indianapolis near the Illinois state line. A tweet from Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames says Indiana State Police Master Trooper Mike Laney was patrolling on the highway when he came across the bird and carefully placed the injured eagle into his patrol car and transported the bird to a local veterinarian. “Hopefully, the eagle will be soaring again soon!” the tweet said.
