Nature in the Arts is a series of events aimed at connecting visitors to nature through a variety of activities hosted at Shirley Heinze Land Trust nature preserves across northwestern Indiana. Visitors will be able to explore each preserve, learn about unique and rare ecosystems, and get inspired to create their own piece of art to take home, the news release said.
Shirley Heinze Land Trust (SHLT) has partnered with local arts and community organizations to provide a variety of free arts-and-crafts instruction and plein air — painting outdoors — demonstrations. This year, SHLT will host Nature in the Arts at the following locations:
St. Francis Nature Preserve, Michigan City, July 22, 2023, 10 am – 1 pm Central Time
Meadowbrook Nature Preserve, Valparaiso, August 19, 2023 10 am – 1 pm Central Time
Lydick Bog Nature Preserve, South Bend, September 30, 2023, 10 am – 1 pm Eastern Time
Ivanhoe South Nature Preserve, Gary, October 7, 2023, 10 am – 1 pm Central Time
