In St. Louis, the Gateway Arch will turn off the lights at night for the month of May. The spring migration of birds is prompting officials to shut off the nighttime lighting of the national monument to help the birds migrate more safely through the Missouri city. The Arch stands 630 feet and is the tallest monument in the National Park system.
