Gardening Classes at Lake County Public Libraries

Lake County Public Library branches are hosting several spring-time and gardening classes.  Registration required; visit the Lake County Public Library system website for more information, and scroll through Upcoming Events on home page to register for individual events.

Here are some of the programs coming up:

Lake Station-New Chicago branch:
Beneficial Bugs and Wonderful Weeds – Lake County Master Gardeners
Thursday, March 12: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Bugs aren’t always a four-letter word when it comes to the
garden. Lake County Master Gardener, Susan Radovich, will
help explain the benefits of bugs and weeds, and help to
answer your questions.


Munster branch:
Munster Garden Club – Make a Backyard Habitat
Monday, March 16: 12:00pm – 2:30pm
Nicole Harmon from Humane Indiana Wildlife will teach you
how to make your property into a backyard habitat for more
species diversity.


Highland Branch:
Gardening Class: Growing Natives – Growing Natives is for the Birds…Bees…& Butterflies

Butterfly Gardening

Learn from a Master Gardener about attracting butterflies to
your garden and even a bit about raising monarchs at home.
