The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County will host their second Household Hazardous Waste collection of the season Saturday, June 10, 2023. The event will be at Portage High School on U.S. 6, 9am to 2pm. Participants are asked to enter through Pan Am Boulevard. Area residents can also dispose of clean and dry grocery bags, batteries-household and automotive, fluorescent bulbs, household smoke detectors, and medical sharps and expired medications, and many more items. The announcement also said this event will feature confidential document shredding by Secure Shred and a clothing collection.
