A woman is recovering after getting hit by a foul ball during the White Sox-Nationals game last night in Chicago. The fan was hit in the bottom of the fourth inning when Sox left fielder Eloy Jimenez fouled a ball down the left-field line. The White Sox said the fan was alert and communicative, but was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Guaranteed Rate Field has protective netting that extends past the dugouts. Netting and fan safety have been a topic of discussion recently after a foul ball off the bat of Cubs center fielder Albert Almora, Jr. hit a girl in the stands at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
