Goodwill Center for Career Connections is offering the NorthStar Digital Literacy Project Basic Computer Skills Certification. In the training you will complete numerous tasks that will be assessed online through self-guided modules. Included are basic computer digital literacy standards and modules in the areas of Basic Computer Use, Internet Basics, Windows and Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with email, social media and Information Literacy. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum level certificates are offered upon demonstrating competency and passing each level.

Resolve Human Resources Hiring Event

Staffing and recruiting company Resolve Human Resources serves as a scalable human resource infrastructure for businesses of any size. Resolve Human Resources will have open interviews and employment assignments available upon interview with recruiters. Resumes can be submitted prior to this event and all walk-ins are accepted.

Google Suite Workshop / In-person & Virtual

Google is used by several individuals every day for directions, searching the web, creating and sharing documents. Google Apps assist businesses, groups, and individuals to work more productively. This workshop will provide a general introduction to Google Apps. You will also learn about the security and data protection services that Google has to offer. If you are a business professional or looking to use Google features for personal use, Goodwill says this workshop will show you how simple it is to make your daily work tasks more efficient and impactful. NorthStar Digital Literacy Training

In this training session, you will perform various tasks that will be assessed online through self-guided modules. Let’s Get Nutty with Mailchimp

In honor of National Grab Some Nuts Day individual bags of nuts will be offered along with this workshop. Mailchimp is an email marketing service that makes it fast and easy to email your clientele. During this workshop we will show you how to use this service to reach out to your clientele and familiarize you with its features.

Job Fair
• Wednesday, August 4th / 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Region residents are invited to join Goodwill on National Chocolate Chip Day for new job opportunities and cookies — the Griffith Center for Career Connections will host a Job Fair with the Ardagh Group, HireQuest and Goodwill Industries.  Butter and Grace Food Truck will be on the premises for a food purchase order.

Word Swag and S’mores
• Tuesday, August 10th / 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
In honor of National S’mores Day, Goodwill will be giving out pre-packaged s’mores while attendees learn about Word Swag. Word Swag is a way to make Word Art and promote your business, post to your social media, and more. This workshop takes attendees from beginner level to expert.

Get Thrifty with Canva
• Tuesday, August 17th / 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Goodwill says this workshop will greatly enhance your marketing strategy and give you a chance to win something great. Canva is a graphic design platform that is free and easy to use. Using this platform, you can make almost anything you need for marketing your business or enhancing your social media posts, from business cards to posters to Facebook posts and everything in between. “Everyone who comes in for this workshop will be entered into a raffle to win a shopping trip to our Goodwill store in honor of National Thrift Shop Day,” said the announcement.

National Women’s Equality Day
• Thursday, August 26th / 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Visit the Griffith Center for Career Connections on this day to receive assistance for any of the variety of services offered at the center and complete the trivia in recognition of National Women’s Equality Day for an opportunity to win a prize.
