Lake County Library Introducing New Steaming Service for Patrons

Patrons of the Lake County Public Library will soon be able to explore, borrow and enjoy instant content from the library on their smartphone, tablet or computer.  The library is introducing a new streaming service called “Hoopla.”  And the hoopla about that—is… thousands of movies, TV shows, music, eBooks, audiobooks and comics are all being made available for mobile and online access.

The library says that resident card holders can download the free hoopla digital app on their Android or IOS device or simply log on to the library’s website for content, available to borrow 24/7 for instant streaming or temporary downloading to their smartphones, tablets or computers.

To help introduce the new service classes will be held at all Lake County branch library locations:

-Monday, April 11: 10:30 a.m. at the Merrillville Branch or 3:00 p.m. at the St. John Branch
-Tuesday, April 12: 3 p.m. at the Griffith-Calumet Twp. Branch
