Opening Bell Rings After Stocks Close Monday in Positive Territory

The opening bell rings this morning after stocks started off the trading week by closing out Monday in positive territory. The higher close was thanks in part to a deal between the United States and Mexico to avoid tariffs. President Trump has said his threat to impose tariffs on Mexico encouraged the country to agree on immigration enforcement and he predicts it will be successful with China as well. In trade with China, Trump believes they are getting “decimated” by the tariffs because companies are leaving the country. At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 79 points to close at 26-063. The Nasdaq gained 81 points to 78-23. The S&P 500 rose 13 points to 28-87.
