In Crown Point, Purdue Extension-Lake County is hosting an educational program called, Indiana CBD Update. Indiana has recently updated laws surrounding CBD and its use. CBD, or cannabidiol, is produced by the cannabis plant. Experts say this chemical compound does not produce a high and may have therapeutic benefits for chronic pain and post traumatic stress disorder. The presentation will explore:
– How CBD oil is made and who is regulating it
– CBD in Indiana – how it relates to Hoosiers and our health
– Which symptoms science suggests CBD may help with, and how CBD works with our brain
– CBD labeling and consumer safety. Is what’s on the market safe?
Allison Goshorn, Purdue Extension, Health and Human Sciences Educator, will present the program October 1st , noon to 1pm at the Purdue Extension-Lake County office on North Main Street in Crown Point. There is no charge and it’s open to the public. To register, call the Extension Office at 219-755-3240.
