Citizens of Cedar Lake are invited to submit public comments regarding the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission’s request for a hike in water-usage rates for town residents. The utility is seeking rate increases to manage higher operating costs and to offset the costs needed for new captial improvements, including a 250,000-gallon storage tank, mains, and a new well supply. Meanwhile, the Town of Cedar Lake is proposing a single-rate tariff for all residential water customers and approval to issues up to $3.9 million in long-term debt. Residents who wish to comment can do so through the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor. We have a link to comment at our website.
