In Valparaiso, city officials say the Silhavy-LaPorte roundabout opens at 7 am this morning Tuesday November 26th. Landscaping and other finishing work will continue into 2020 and will require minor lane restrictions. The new roundabout move approximately 35,000 vehicles per day, using a two-lane design with four legs. “Despite the cold and rain and early snow, we’re pleased to announce that the roundabout will be open to traffic on Nov. 26,” said Don McGinley, Valparaiso’s Director of Project and Facility Management. “We appreciate the patience of motorists and shoppers and surrounding businesses during construction. A project of this magnitude requires the cooperation of many crews and people. Throughout each phase we’ve worked hard to minimize the disruption and are very pleased to open on schedule,” he said.
