Target is enhancing its family care benefits for its workforce, including hourly, part time and salaried employees. Starting June 30th, the giant retailer will offer extended paid time off to allow employees to care for a new baby or an ailing parent. Employees who have a new child, whether by birth, adoption, surrogacy or foster placement, will receive double the amount of paid time off in addition to paid maternity leave. Target is also expanding backup care benefits. This fall, Target will provide 20 days of backup care at an affordable price in the event that school unexpectedly closes or a care provider cancels.
